I've been using the Firefox web browser for a few months now and have been very impressed with it's ease of use and speed. By default it blocks most popup ads which is really nice. There are a few webpages that don't work with it, but that is because some sites are designed for IE and don't follow web standards. Enjoy!
It's been awhile since I've posted, although I have good intentions to keep this site up to date I rarely feel like I have the energy to make a "good" post. The lack of a good digital camera to snap photos willy-nilly makes it harder seemingly, or maybe I'm looking for an excuse to get a digital camera...
I took a great trip this weekend kayaking around Long Island in Willapa Bay, WA which is about 40 minutes from Astoria. It was my first kayaking/camping trip and it was a very pleasant experience! We left Friday and came back Sunday, camping on the island 2 nights. The island is really beautiful and not a really popular tourist destination so it was very peaceful. Fortunately in our group of 4 we had 2 experienced kayakers, 3 eagle scouts, and a GPS so we were well prepared. Our first night we came to the campsite in the dark (~11pm) under the light of the moon, which we could not have done except for the GPS!
It was very interesting to have to time our paddling to the high tides, since the island is surrounded by very shallow mud. If you don't get to camp in time, you could be stuck in the mud (~3/4 of a mile from shore) until the next tide... good incentive to paddle fast.
When I get them I'll post some pictures here, it was a great weekend. Debbie managed to go to a glass blowing class which was a blast (pun intended), and do some serious socializing in my absence for the weekend.
